2015 Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient


Dr. Gary Webb

Dr. Gary Webb was director of the Toronto Congenital Cardiac Center for Adults, which was among the first ACHD centers in the world in the 1980s. In 1991, he was founding President of the Canadian Adult Congenital Heart (CACH) Network. He chaired the first ever management guidelines for ACHD and was instrumental in implementing a national plan that standardized patient care. From 1994 to 1996, he was founding President of ISACHD. Dr. Webb also cofounded the Congenital Heart Professionals (CHiP) Network to connect professionals across the globe. In partnership with Cincinnati and ISACHD, he established the Adult Congenital Heart Learning Center, an online source of information primarily for ACHD providers. He has been influential in shaping the field of ACHD through numerous organizations. His exceptional leadership and vision, extraordinary commitment to teaching and training, inspirational role as a master clinician and compassionate physician, and career-long contributions leave a lasting impact on our field.

The Award was presented to Dr. Gary Webb at the annual AHA Scientific Sessions in Orlando in November 2015.
